On June 8th, World Vision, some of the NHLPA staff and myself went to Haiti. We visited the country and the Grace Children's Hospital site, right in the middle of Port-au-Prince. The hospital is totally demolished and our goal has been to raise enough money to rebuild it. So far, thanks to you all, we have raised over $1.5 million, but our goal is to raise $4 million so we can build a bigger, stronger facility and provide more services. Over 300,000 people died in Haiti and with the hurricane season coming, this number will grow. We, as lucky Canadians, can make a difference and help rebuild this beautiful nation whose courageous people, despite everything, would rather stay in their country and live with hope of a better future. That's a lesson of courage to us all, an inspiration.
Here's the link to donate for the Grace Hospital project, remember even if you donate 5$, you will have an impact on this project. http://www.worldvision.ca/hockey
